How to: Fancy Text Generator
- Type your text.
- Scroll through the styles to find one you like.
- Click a style to copy it, then paste it into your bio, post or name.
Social apps rarely let you choose a font, but Unicode contains complete alphabets of bold, italic, script, gothic, double-struck, circled and other styled letters. Fileopiaβs fancy text generator converts your words into dozens of these styles at once so you can copy the one you like into an Instagram bio, a TikTok caption, an X post, a Discord nickname or a game name. Everything runs in your browser.
Common uses
- Make your Instagram or TikTok bio stand out.
- Emphasise a word in a post where bold is not supported.
- Create a distinctive gaming or Discord display name.
- Add decorative headings to messages and community posts.
- Design playful text for invitations shared online.
Tips for best results
- Use styled text sparingly β one name or heading, not whole paragraphs.
- Bold and italic sans-serif styles are the most widely supported.
- Check how it looks on both Android and iPhone before committing to a username.
- Avoid fancy letters in text people need to search for, such as your shop name.
- Some platforms block styled characters in usernames; use them in display names instead.
Why it is not a real font
A font changes how ordinary letters are drawn. These styles instead swap each letter for a different character: the βπβ in mathematical bold is a separate code point from a normal βAβ, originally added for mathematical notation. Because they are separate characters, they keep their look wherever Unicode text goes β but search engines and apps treat them as different letters, which is why styled text is not found when someone searches the plain word.
Device and app support
Most styles display on modern iPhones, Android phones, Windows and Mac computers. Some unusual characters, such as a few small capitals or upside-down letters, are missing from older fonts and appear as empty boxes. Upside-down text also reverses the order of characters so it reads correctly when flipped. If you are using text somewhere important, paste it into the app and check it on a second device before publishing.
Accessibility matters
Screen readers used by blind and partially sighted people often read styled characters as their mathematical names β βmathematical bold capital Hβ β or skip them entirely. A bio written wholly in script letters can be unintelligible to them. A good compromise is to keep your name and key information in plain text and use a styled word only for decoration. The generator shows this tip so you can choose responsibly.

Frequently asked questions
How do these fonts work on Instagram?
They are not fonts but special Unicode characters that look like styled letters. Any app that displays Unicode shows them, so they survive copy and paste.
Are fancy letters bad for accessibility?
Often, yes. Screen readers may read them letter by letter or skip them. Use them for a word or two, not whole posts.
Will it work in my username?
Display names usually accept it; many platforms restrict usernames and handles to plain letters, numbers and a few symbols.
Does it support numbers?
Many styles include numbers too, such as bold, double-struck, circled and monospace.
Can I use it in documents?
Yes, but a real bold or italic font is better for documents because it stays searchable and accessible.
Is Fancy Text Generator really free?
Yes. Every tool on Fileopia is 100% free with no file limits, no sign-up and no watermarks. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Fileopia processes your files directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your documents never leave your device, so they stay completely private.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Fileopia works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Linux.
