How to: Signature Maker
- Draw your signature in the box or switch to “Type your name”.
- Choose ink colour, pen width and style.
- Download a transparent PNG, JPG or vector SVG.
Signing documents digitally is much easier with a clean image of your signature. Draw it with a mouse, trackpad, finger or stylus and the strokes are smoothed automatically; or type your name and choose one of six handwriting fonts. The result is trimmed to the ink and saved with a transparent background, ready for PDFs, Word documents, contracts and email footers.
Common uses
- Sign PDF contracts, forms and letters without printing.
- Add a signature to invoices, quotes and receipts.
- Include a handwritten touch in email signatures and newsletters.
- Create a consistent signature for document templates.
Tips for best results
- Draw larger than you need – the image is trimmed and scales down sharply.
- Dark blue ink looks more natural on documents than pure black.
- Use a stylus or finger on a phone for the most natural strokes.
- Download SVG if you need a vector signature for design software.
Drawing versus typing
A drawn signature is unique and closest to your pen signature, which is what most people expect on contracts. A typed signature in a script font is quicker and looks neat, and it is commonly accepted for informal documents. You can switch between the two modes at any time; drawn strokes are kept while you try fonts.
Transparent PNG and SVG
The PNG has a transparent background, so it can be placed over lines and text without a white box. The JPG option adds a white background for systems that do not accept transparency. The SVG export saves drawn strokes as vector paths, which stay sharp at any size.
Your signature is never uploaded
Signatures are sensitive. The drawing pad, fonts and export all run inside your browser, and nothing is stored on a server.

Frequently asked questions
Is an image signature legally binding
In many countries, including under the US ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS regulation, a simple electronic signature can be valid for everyday agreements if the parties intend to sign. Some documents, such as wills or property deeds, may need stronger signatures or witnesses – check local rules.
How do I add it to a PDF
Download the PNG, then open Sign PDF on this site and place the image on the page. Transparent corners mean only the ink appears on the document.
