How to: JPG to PDF
- Select or drop your images.
- Arrange the order and choose page size and margin.
- Click Start and download your PDF.
Turning photos into a PDF is the easiest way to submit documents, homework or receipts as a single file. Fileopia builds the PDF on your phone or computer, so personal photos and ID scans are never uploaded.
Common uses
- Turn phone photos of documents into one PDF for an application.
- Combine receipts into a PDF for expense claims.
- Send homework or handwritten notes as a single file.
Tips for best results
- Choose A4 or Letter page size for documents that will be printed.
- Rotate or crop photos first with the image tools for a neater result.
- If the PDF is too big, use Compress PDF afterwards.
Every option you need, none of the uploading
Fileopia matches the page-layout options of the best-known converters and adds a few of its own, while keeping your photos on your device. Choose the page size, orientation and margin, drag images into order, rotate any that are sideways, then download a single PDF – or a ZIP with one PDF per image.
- Page size – Fit (page matches the image), A4, US Letter, US Legal, A0–A6 or a custom size in millimetres.
- Orientation – Auto picks portrait or landscape per image so wide photos fill the page; or force one for every page.
- Margins – none, small (20 pt) or big (40 pt).
- Output – merge all images into one PDF, or create a separate PDF for each image, delivered as a ZIP.
- Formats – JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF (iPhone photos), AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF.
Will image quality be affected?
No. JPEG and PNG files are embedded into the PDF byte-for-byte – they are not re-compressed – so the PDF looks exactly as sharp as the originals. Only images in formats PDF cannot store directly (such as HEIC or WebP) or images you rotate are converted, using high quality settings. If the resulting PDF is too big for e-mail, shrink it afterwards with Compress PDF.
Converting JPG to PDF on Mac, Windows and phones
On Windows you could use ‘Microsoft Print to PDF’ and on a Mac you can export from Preview, but both make arranging many photos awkward and offer limited control over margins. This page works the same on every system: on iPhone or Android, tap the drop zone, select photos from your gallery and the PDF is saved to Files or Downloads. HEIC photos straight from an iPhone camera are supported without converting them first.
Popular uses
- Submitting scanned ID cards, certificates or receipts to a portal that only accepts PDF.
- Turning photos of handwritten notes or a whiteboard into a single document – for camera-straightened pages, try PDF Scanner.
- Building a simple photo book or portfolio with uniform A4 pages and margins.
- Combining screenshots into a bug report or tutorial.
Is my data secure?
Your images are processed in memory by JavaScript and never uploaded. Photos of passports, bank cards or medical documents are exactly the kind of file that should not be sent to a stranger’s server – with Fileopia they never are.
Choosing page size and margins
Fit gives each page the exact proportions of its image, ideal for screenshots and artwork. A4 or US Letter with a small margin is best for documents that will be printed or submitted to offices, because every page is the same size. Use Auto orientation so landscape photos are placed on landscape pages instead of being shrunk onto a tall page.
