Microphone permission
The first time you press Record, the browser asks to use your microphone. Allow it for this site only. If you blocked it by mistake, click the camera or lock icon in the address bar to change the permission, then reload the page.
Formats
Browsers record natively as WEBM (Opus) or, in Safari, M4A (AAC). Choosing MP3 or WAV decodes the recording and converts it in the browser with the open-source LAME encoder. MP3 at 128 kbps mono is ideal for speech and plays on every device.
