How to: Image Joiner

  1. Add two or more images and drag them into order.
  2. Pick horizontal, vertical or grid, plus gap and background.
  3. Download the combined image.

Combining pictures into one file is handy for before-and-after comparisons, screenshots of a conversation, product variations, collages or long infographics. Fileopia’s image joiner stitches any number of images horizontally, vertically or into a grid, scales them to line up neatly, adds optional spacing and a background colour, and saves the result as JPG, PNG or WebP. Images are combined locally in your browser, so private screenshots stay private.

Common uses

Tips for best results

Layouts explained

Side by side places images in one row; with “Match sizes” every image is scaled to the same height so tops and bottoms align. Top to bottom stacks them in one column at a shared width – ideal for screenshots. Grid arranges them in rows with the number of columns you choose, scaling each to a uniform cell; any empty cells at the end are filled with the background colour. Gaps are added between images and around nothing else.

Keeping quality high

Images are drawn once onto a single canvas at the target size, so there is no repeated compression. If the combined size exceeds the maximum you selected, everything is scaled down proportionally in one step. For the sharpest result keep the maximum at 4000 pixels or above and choose PNG. Very large canvases above 16,000 pixels can exceed browser memory on phones, so use them only when necessary.

Joining versus making a PDF

A single joined image is easiest to send in chats and post on social media. If you are combining documents, receipts or many pages for printing, a PDF is usually better: pages stay separate, text stays sharp and file size is smaller. Use the image to PDF converter on this site for that – it uses the same private, in-browser approach.

Frequently asked questions

How many images can I join?

Up to 50. Very large results are scaled to the maximum size you select so the file stays usable.

What if the images are different sizes?

With “Match sizes” they are scaled to the same height (side by side) or width (stacked) so edges line up; “Keep original sizes” leaves them untouched.

Does it work with phone screenshots?

Yes – PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and HEIC (where supported) all work.

Can I add borders?

Set a gap and background colour; the gap acts as a border between images.

Is there a watermark?

No. The output is clean.

Is Image Joiner really free?

Yes. Every tool on Fileopia is 100% free with no file limits, no sign-up and no watermarks. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Fileopia processes your files directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your documents never leave your device, so they stay completely private.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Fileopia works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Linux.
